Our House - Take 1

Welcome to suburbia! Here's a shot of us at the site of our yet to be built home. Gavin enjoyed the empty lot quite a bit and you can see that neither of our boys will be short on friends in the new hood. That's Quinn, our next door neighbor (and son of our good friends Jim and Sara) playing a little soccer with Don.

Anyplace we hang our hat is home...

...and come Halloween we'll be moving into something that looks sort of like this. The place is merely an empty lot right now, but over the next few months we're going to see it built from the ground up. On the flip side, we are working overtime to get the Smith House in Middleton up to snuff for prospective buyers (which is why some of you may be wondering if we've fallen off the face of the Earth). It's been a hectic last couple of weeks and emotional as we prepare to let go of this little house we have loved so much but have outgrown, too. As my sister said recently, "you have to move, Keely takes up the whole living room."
Stay tuned for additional updates -- we plan to document the building process on camera and post the results here occasionally.

What is this?

Readers, please help us out... we got the first box from our summer food share today and among the delicious lettuce, onions and berries were two of these thing-a-ma-doos. We have no idea what it is or what you do with it. Ideas? I don't even know where to start with googling...
